-- The Royal Trains take you to a bygone world of elegance along the old rail route used by the Maharajas. The Palace on Wheels is pulled partially by a steam engine and consists of replicas of luxury state carriages that were once owned by Indian royalty and dated as far back as 1898 -- each faithfully recreated to the original's vintage splendor. Each saloon has two bathrooms, a kitchenette and lounge-with sleeping accommodations in private compartments. If you wish, a hearty English breakfast can be served in a tray at your bedside or in the lounge area of the salon. Every carriage has its own personal attendants who will look after your every need. There are two separate dining cars, an air-conditioned lounge/bar, a library, laundry service and piped in music. Other amenities: bath with lotions, shampoos and sandalwood soap. Soft thick towels and bed sheets of pure Indian cotton. There is no better way to travel through Rajasthan -- the "Land of The Maharajas", peacocks, palaces, desert oases, chivalry and romance -- than as the Maharajas did -- in a replica of an exclusive, private train that belonged to the mighty Maharajas themselves! --
